The AKC parent club for the Havanese breed recommends three health tests to be done and registered with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Inc. Some breeders may choose to do further testing they feel maybe beneficial to their bloodlines.

Titanium Havanese may or may not do additional testing in addition to the above 3 tests. Sometimes we just randomly decide to check with an additional test just to keep an eye on the bloodlines but not because we think there is a problem, just to be watchful and learn more about our Havanese.
Note that there are many breeders who claim to health test but merely only have vet examinations or are not properly testing by doing all 3 test recommendations that are of the AKC health testing standards for the breed.
Titanium Havanese feels by performing these tests we are doing everything possible to work toward having sound Havanese to breed and produce the best to our ability, whether that is for a companion pet or future breeding prospect. Doing these certifications does not mean puppies will never have or be born with a fault/defect but it helps to eliminate and cut back on these issues along with giving us and our families the peace of mind we are not adding to or contributing to bad health issues.
